Woods Bagot has completed the National Australia Bank (NAB) South Australian head office. This project will act as a pilot for the next generation of NAB accommodation spaces nationally.
When the project commenced, NAB was accommodated in dated, cellular work settings spread out across the eleven floors within their current building. Through the application of activity working concepts in response to NAB's corporate objectives, the refurbished workplace will consolidate the space requirements to four interconnected, open plan work floors and one client floor with meeting and training facilities. An interconnecting stair has been implemented as part of the refurbishment to aid with linking the four open work floors to increase movement through the building and interaction between staff.
To achieve this, a reverse brief process was employed by Woods Bagot where floor planning and user group interviews were undertaken concurrently. This provided the earliest opportunity to translate the activity working model on plan for the user group to react to and align with commercial and cultural goals.
The new workplace for NAB will allow them to absorb change and growth within the boundaries of the four work floors through the promotion and support of more mobile working patterns and a flexible platform of work settings.
NAB Adelaide is registered for a Green Star Office Design rating, which supports NAB's environmental agenda and target to become carbon neutral.
